I'm on major Brazilian, particularly Bahian, music tip at the moment and cannot stop listening to Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil. The last few days I have not been able to get this song out of my head and it's been on repeat (maybe that has something to do with why I can't get it out my head?). I watched an interview with Veloso and Gil where they talked about being exiled from their homeland and having to relocate to England. This song, I imagine, was written as they dealt with this transition. It's definitely speaking to me and reminding me of moments of change in my own life.
